King Street Townhouse Manchester is the new born grand baby of Eclectic Hotels chain, discreet in size but big on charm.
With just a wooden shutter separating you from Manchester town centre, the rooms remain surprisingly silent and un-disturbing. The eminence and supreme size of the bed, bath and shower belittle the rooms accompanying features. It is clear that King Street Townhouse’s focus is relaxation. The fantastic housekeeping staff even visit to prepare your bed for “falling into”, a perfect place to land after that boozy ‘meeting’ at a work trip or for a weekend away with your partner. Be sure to take advantage of the mini bar hangover kit too.
The hotels stand out feature has to be its newly opened rooftop spa infinity pool. Heated and equipped with a bench for lounging, the pool looks over the clock tower and spires of Manchester town hall, located just a throw of a stone away.
The hotel boasts a quality dining experience at the King Street Tavern. The menu serves a good selection of hearty pub-style classics, your favourites with a luxury feel. Potato crusted cod and chips, gourmet cheeseburgers, Thai green curry and (my choice) a slow cooked lamb shank that I watched melt with the touch of a fork. The Calamari starter was deliciously comforting, a light and crispy batter satisfying without being over bearing. Likewise, the chocolate mousse was rich but graceful.
Thanks for having us !
